Saturday August 17, 2013 “When they saw Him”

Luke 20:13  “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’
What did the people see in Jesus, the Son?  The invisible God in human flesh.  They saw a loving, sin-forgiving Savior. They saw the power of God.  They witnessed His humility – born as a man.  They witnessed His forbearance in judgment. The son attempted to kill the enmity mankind had toward the benevolent God with kindness. The Son would save us from sin and reconcile us to God.  To refuse reverence to the Son is to dishonor the Father who sent Him.
May our hearts be tender to hear the voice of God – the scripture and also hear Him through the voice of sons and daughters of God – believers who make up God’s family on earth.  Let us then reverence God through obedience to the word of the Lord.
Pray today that Christians all over America choose to follow our example in reverencing God through faith in Jesus Christ – this is fruit of the Kingdom.
