Sunday August 18, 2013 “Results of Refusing” Prayer Focus for 6-9 pm

God Bless You and thousands of others praying in agreement for America tonight.  You are making a difference.
In the parable of the vineyard recorded in Luke 20:14-15, the word of God tells us that the Lord in His kindness toward Israel sent His only son to find the fruit of biblical faith (righteousness and respect for God) among His people.  Instead of receiving the Son of the owner of the vineyard, the people cast Him out and killed Him. They would not have the man rule over them.
The people knew Jesus was the true Heir of the kingdom, the Bible says, yet they chose to pridefully refuse His Lordship.  Do we yield to Jesus’ Lordship?  Do we cast Jesus out of our plans when it is convenient or expedient for us to do so?  That results in eternal ruin. Luke 20:18  18 Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
Pray Points concerning the terrible results of refusing God His due in life:
1)    The  husbandmen in the parable were destroyed and the Kingdom responsibility was given to others.  V.16 “He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.”And when they heard it they said, “Certainly not!”  Neglected opportunities bring loss in this life and the one to come.
Pray that we in America who are so blessed return to the call of this nation to take the gospel to every nation.  “To whom much is given, much is required.”  We must do what we can now.
2)    The privileges of freedom and free-market are not entitlements, they are given us in our constitution and Bill of Rights to facilitate what has been the greatest evangelistic thrust of the gospel cycle in human history.
Pray tonight that the sword of the Spirit (the word of God) smite pride and selfishness in the church so that we might enter every city around us with spiritual and practical help that will result in dreams being birthed everywhere in this great land for a better tomorrow. We who are “One Nation Under God” have a great future as we present the fruit of faith to the Lord as we reach people for His glory and Kingdom’s sake.
3)    The response of the self-righteous rebels in the parable (the husbandmen) responded with a “God forbid” or “Certainly Not” when Jesus spoke of the fate of His people.  Their response was like David’s to Nathan when confronted by the prophet concerning the ewe lamb.  Only difference David, a man after God’s own heart, had a change of heart through repentance. The husbandmen refused to repent, sealing their fate.
Tonight let us pray that America will re-focus on why we are here. We must bring forth fruit for God or our stewardship will be given to another.  His will must be done to reach our neighbor with the Gospel.  We pray it in the Lord’s prayer – let’s act on it in our daily witness for Christ.
