Saturday August 24, 2013 “A Man Imprisoned”

1 Kings 22:27 “and say, ‘Thus says the king: “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace.”  Hated, mocked and now imprisoned because he spoke the truth.  Micaiah was bound but God’s Word was not bound.  The word of God is like the wind that blows into a man’s heart and brings about change.  Isaiah 55:10-11 “The Word of God accomplishes what it is sent to do and it prospers.”  The Apostle Paul and Peter were both imprisoned and God brought about great things in every city where the jails were located.
Today many are not imprisoned in America because they stand for the truth but many times rights are suspended or taken away that “imprison” the work of God.
Pray today that the word of God and work of God continue even in times when God’s people feel that opportunities to share the love of Jesus Christ is minimized in a world where perversion is protected and evil is permitted.  Pray that we, like Joseph of old in Egypt, will not become embittered by the bars of injustice and that we realize as when Stephen in the Book of Acts was being stoned God was working in the heart of Paul to empower him in the days ahead to courageously proclaim truth.
