Sunday October 6, 2013 “Tear Down This Wall”

When the WWII vets stormed the gates at their memorial and one gentleman expressed his displeasure with the barriers declaring, “Mr. President, tear down this wall!” it reminded me of the “We Are the People” movement in Germany and the “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” our President Reagan said to the Communist leader.
Could it be that Americans, especially those as special and sacrificial as the “Greatest Generation”, are feeling that we are being kept from what is rightfully ours as American citizens?
Tonight as we agree in prayer for a minimum of 15 minutes on the following points – let us remember that we are “the land of the free and home of the brave” and salute those aging soldiers who found a way to their memorial in Washington DC.
#1)  Pray that personal rights and freedoms not become a thing of the past due to an unconcerned, uninvolved people in America.
#2)  Pray that “Washington” will understand that their inaction and self-interests will not be tolerated as the “new norm” in America.  The result of their political posturing will be met with more than veterans pushing aside barriers.  Veterans and others will show up at the ballot box and vote to remove those creating a barrier to the “American dream” being lived by future generations.
#3)  Let us conclude our prayer time this evening interceding for our sweet land of liberty with the determination of the Vets who removed barriers to get to the place where they knew they could be.  Jesus taught that in the spirit realm we possess things in the Kingdom “as by force.”  Matthew 11:12.  We need to increase our spiritual warfare to meet the demands of the day in which we live.  Join us in this journey of faith.
