Raising the Debt Ceiling” – there’s been a lot of talk about that subject lately.  At this writing God only knows when there will be an agreement reached in Washington concerning that important news item.

   No matter what happens or doesn’t happen, I suppose the sun will rise and set on Oct. 17 as usual.  Probably some politicians will still believe that the sun rises and sets according their life and agenda.

   Sin creates a spiritual debt for people.  The debt ceiling continues to grow in people’s lives throughout the years and its crushing load becomes so oppressive and overwhelming to some that they just give up.  But God waits to be gracious to all who will turn to Him in faith. He gives rest to the weary soul and He cancels the debt for all who ask for forgiveness.

   Today is a good time to get out of debt (sin debt) – we do not have to carry it any farther. All we need to do as Christians is ask God to cleanse us  1John 1:9 and He will forgive.  After our debt has been eradicated – let us pray for people we know who are not yet believers in Jesus Christ.  Pray that their hearts be open to God’s love and forgiveness.  We can also pray that other Christians witness God’s love to them.

   It will be great to know that others’ debt ceiling has been reduced to -0- because Jesus paid the entire price, so let us know when a friend becomes a believer and be sure to rejoice with them.
