We Are The People

“Amid uncertainty, new perils abound…”  A front page article concerning the US economy and the last minute “deal” struck in Congress makes one who believes in the Bible think of what it refers to as the last days.

There are so many things that seem to be unstable today that not long ago seemed to be unshakable.  Economics, health care, international politics and even our own form of government seems to be undergoing a time of uncertainty.  Whenever one thing seems to come to some semblance of resolution another peril knocks at the door.

In the Book of Hebrews chapter 12 verse 27 we read “everything that can be shaken will be shaken so that only those things than cannot be shaken will remain.”

As our nation undergoes these times of shaking let us pray that many of our fellow Americans come to know the safety and sure foundation that is unshakable – salvation through the blood of the cross of Jesus Christ.  May God help us to remain strong in our faith and present to the world the unshakable Kingdom we are a part of through faith in God.
