Wednesday October 30, 2013 “Great in Whose Sight?”

Luke 1:15 “15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.”
Great in the sight of the Lord not in the sight of men.  Many times we try so hard to look good in the sight of men at the expense of being great in God’s sight.  Pride is usually the result of such attempts.
Today, let us pray that as individuals and as a nation we will seek the approval of God and to be great in His sight.  Jesus taught that humility and servanthood should mark our lives.  May we have the courage to live this counter cultural lifestyle in a day when being great in the sight of man is so coveted.
