Sunday November 10, 2013 “Veterans Loved and Appreciated”

Tonight we will once again exercise our right and privilege to come before  God’s throne of grace on behalf of our nation from 6-9 pm  (all time zones).

Our prayers of agreement will be focused on veterans as we focus on three points of intercession.  We need a strong military to remain free and any person is their personal best when they know they are appreciated and loved.
1)   God said, “no greater love can a man show than to lay down his life for his friends.” Many in America have lost family members in armed conflict.  Pray that the comfort of God’s Spirit be upon these precious people as they are reminded this weekend of the price paid for freedom. Intercede for the salvation of those who still carry the pain of their loss and that they see themselves as our Heavenly Father sees them – precious in His sight.
2)   Pray that Veterans understand how much God loves them. He demonstrated that love when He sent Jesus to lay down His life on the cross for both friends and enemies of our Lord.  Ask God to send believers who are equipped with the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit and a love for veterans to speak into the lives of these precious men and women who have served our country in the military. Many have experienced “Hell” on a battlefield but we pray for salvation and heaven for their eternal reward.
3)   Call upon the Lord for veterans who have experienced less than a hero’s welcome after they returned home.  Misunderstandings in the community and challenges when reentering family life requires much grace and love.  Pray that there be an appreciation and respect for those who laid aside some of their future to provide a hope and a future for all in America.
