Thursday December 5, 2013 “Joy of the Lord”

Neh 8:9  “And Nehemiah, who was the governor,[a] Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn nor weep.” For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law.”
In Nehemiah Chapter 8:9 it is recorded that there was such a misunderstanding of God’s Word being read to the people that they wept instead of rejoicing.
Ezra corrected the people’s understand of the Word of God and that resulted in joy of the Lord that brought strength to God’s people v.10.
Today’s prayer focus is that we, as Americans, desire to know the truth of God’s word and that God’s people desire for their pastors to preach God’s word in such a way that joy is restored to the Believers.
