We have looked at the desired effect of the Word of God in a person’s life this past week and we have prayed that as a nation we would respond to God’s Word in the same way God’s people did in Nehemiah Chapter 8. This week we will discover the place of praise in prayer and the promises of God when we praise Him from Nehemiah Chapter 9.
This being Sunday evening when we gather our hearts together as a group, uniting in intercession concerning three prayer focus points.
Welcome to WeAreThePeople.me Invite someone to join us tonight through social media or a phone call. More individuals and churches are joining us every week.
Nehemiah 9:5-6 “Stand up and bless the Lord your God Forever and ever! “Blessed be Your glorious name, Which is exalted above all blessing and praise!
6 You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.”
At the beginning of Chapter 9 the people humbled themselves and broke unholy alliances confessing their sins. Following that, the Book of the Law was read for hours which led to the worship of God. Part of that worship was praise to God for His greatness.
Prayer Focus #1: That as a nation we will humble ourselves to the point where as individuals and a country we break unholy alliances. That can be with other nations, ideologies or philosophies.
Prayer Focus #2: Pray in agreement that as Christians we will stand up as Verse 5 tells us and publically praise God.
Prayer Focus #3: Pray for the people of God that they acknowledge God to whom we pray that He is Omnipotent and the Creator.
