Sunday December 15, 2013 “The Night of Incarnation”

John 1:1-7 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
The Incarnation of Jesus Christ has been called, “the birth supreme amidst things ajar.” The Light of the World was born in the night. In the natural and spiritual world there was darkness – the fierce Roman Empire and the form and ceremony of a powerless religion like Judaism at that time in history.
This being Sunday, welcome to our time of agreement in prayer concerning this land we love. As we join together in intercession, let us spend at least 15 minutes calling on God from 6-9pm (all time zones) for His love, mercy, forgiveness and restoration to be richly poured out upon America.
Our three points of Focus in Prayer tonight are the following:
1) As the light shined into the darkness of a world “ajar” 2000 years ago at Jesus’ birth, pray that the “Light of the World” today – the church – arise and illuminate the world around us with the love of Jesus Christ.
2) Pray that the darkness in government, politics and religion be dispelled by the glorious light of the Gospel truth being lived and declared by the Church as the only world view that leads to a better life in America and the only hope of eternity.
3) Pray for true believers who have been born again at the right time and place to impact this “one nation under God” see themselves to be people of destiny as it was with Jesus who was born of Mary at the prophesied time and place. Call upon God for a fresh Baptism in the Holy Spirit to enable us to accomplish our mission to bring this nation back to God.
