Sunday January 12, 2014 “A Knockin’ Savior”

Last week we looked at Mark 2 where Jesus was found to be in a house in Capernum.  This week we will continue to look at that portion of scripture.  However, tonight as we focus on 3 points of intercession we will begin with the fact that Jesus doesn’t always find open doors where He desires to reside.
Welcome to our 6-9pm (all US time zones) Weekly Prayer Focus as we gather to pray in agreement over our nation and cities.  Jesus said when two believers agree in prayer on earth it is answered by the Father in Heaven.
Prayer Focus #1:  Revelation 3:20 tells us that there are times when Jesus must knock on the door of His own church trying to get in to say a word.  In context the church at Laodicea seemed to have much outwardly but their love was so “lukewarm” Jesus was ready to remove them from His body.
Tonight let us pray in agreement that in 2014 Pastors and church leaders hear the knock and open the door for a word from the Lord.  In the text from Rev. 3 Jesus said “if you answer the door you will reign with me on my throne.”  Paul the Apostle said we reign because of grace and righteousness.  Pray for a revelation in all churches large and small across the land.
Prayer Focus #2:  Sometimes Jesus just comes in uninvited like after the resurrection in John 20:19-20.  He came in despite the locked door of the house.
Pray that Jesus surprises gatherings of His people who are discouraged by revealing Himself in their darkest hour.  The result was peace and gladness.  Pray Jesus is received as He come to His people.
Prayer Focus #3:  Jesus knocks at the door as a humble servant.  Let us pray that He be received as the Sovereign King of Glory to fill the temple – His people.
