Thursday January 16, 2014 “Risk it all”

Mark 2:3-4  Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
When someone is ready for real help, they don’t care how it will come, they are desperate for God’s touch.  Although not thought of when we read this account it would have been easier for the paralytic to say, “Thanks for trying guys but there’s no way this is going to work. Too risky for you to carry me up there.”  But the man wasn’t ashamed of his condition nor was he anxious about God’s provision for his healing.
Pray today that people be willing to risk in the process of being restored – that they see through eyes of faith to see beyond the anxiety to the remedy – Jesus’ intervention.  America needs to find that place once again where we are willing to humble ourselves to processes that will bring us to the place of being on our feet again.
