Thursday February 6, 2014 “Super Publicity”

Joshua 4:21-24 “21 Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: “When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ 22 then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’; 23 for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, 24 that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
In our world today much publicity is given to the many things people say made them successful.  Our Bible text reveals the fact that God wanted all the people of earth to know of the saving power of the Most High.
Let’s join our hearts in prayer that the press and media give adequate and unbiased reporting of the testimony by Super Bowl players that God was with them and helped each one do their personal best last Sunday.  Pray as our text reveals that the world will come to fear the Lord because of the testimony of God’s people.
Joshua 9:1-2 “And it came to pass when all the kings who were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea toward Lebanon—the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite—heard about it, that they gathered together to fight with Joshua and Israel with one accord.”
Israel was promised the land and they would possess all that God told Israel He would give them.  But the Kings gathered against God’s people.  There will be an attempt by Satan to intimidate and bring down those who have won the game last Sunday.  The Kings of Pride, Pleasure, Darkness and Lust will array themselves against them.
Pray today that those with the powerful testimony of victory will not be intimidated by those sent by the adversary to disarm those with a story to tell and a witness to maintain.
