Sunday March 2, 2014 “Called With Him”

Welcome to the Sunday evening “prayers of agreement” for our nation through We Are the People.  It is asked that each person take at least 15 minutes to intercede between the hours of 6 and 9pm (all time zones).  This week we will look at the priesthood of believers and find prayer focus points from Leviticus Chapter 8.
Leviticus 8:1-5 “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, the anointing oil, a bull as the sin offering, two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread; and gather all the congregation together at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.”  So Moses did as the Lord commanded him. And the congregation was gathered together at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. And Moses said to the congregation, “This is what the Lord commanded to be done.”
Aaron, the high priest, and his sons were called to a special ministry among the children of Israel.  A priest goes before God for the people.  Today we begin by looking at the calling of God.
Aaron and his sons were called as a unit.  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household.”  Acts 16:31.  Our founders were by and large Christian believers – they are a type of Aaron.  We are a type of “the sons of Aaron.”  We are called together with them to be people of faith in this nation, to take responsibility to pray for our nation and stand on its behalf  before Almighty God.  Jeremiah 5:1 says because of one person in the city, God will let the others go (spare them from judgment).
Focus #1:  Pray that God’s people recognize this responsibility and privilege we have as Christians is a calling as Aaron and his sons were called to this special service and that by birth (new birth) which is to be “born again”  we are sons of the living God.  In this position we have been given power with God and man.
Focus #2:  Pray that the congregation (our nation) will respond to the voice from heaven to gather together in places of worship (the Tabernacle of meeting verse 4) to hear what the Lord commands us to do.
Focus #3:  Pray that the “sons of Aaron”, Christian believers, who are in positions of authority from the White House to the local Courthouse become intercessors on the behalf of those they serve.  Join us Monday through Saturday for daily blog and prayer points.
