Thursday March 13, 2014 “Helpers”

Nehemiah 2:17 “Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.”
Nehemiah did not say “go and build” but “come let us build.”  Leaders must labor alongside the church.  A ruined Jerusalem was a dishonor to every Jew and a weak and powerless church is a dishonor to each individual member.   The only way to roll away the reproach is to arise and build putting the displaced stones into their proper place.
Nehemiah called for helpers and the “lively stones” Peter speaks of come together to bring the walls back into proper order.
Pray that church leaders be willing to call believers together to work with them in this day of restoration of faith in America.  Even a great workman cannot accomplish as much as 20 ordinary hands.  Together we can accomplish much – pray that Christians respond to the good work to restore righteousness in America in our times.
