Tuesday April 8, 2014 “I won’t Come Down”

Neh 6:3 “So I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”
Nehemiah surely would have “come down” had he chosen to visit with his enemies in the plain of Ono. No matter what the reward might be for allowing yourself to be distracted from doing God’s work, it is never enough considering what we must forfeit.
Today, let’s pray for the Holy Spirit to work with God’s children all over America and that we all have an ear to hear His voice and do His will. This will not always be advantageous for this life but will bring forth eternal blessing as we remain focused on obeying God and fulfilling His purposes on the earth. Let us begin to pray as Jesus taught us, “Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” This is a time that we must seek God’s Kingdom first if we will see America turned back to God.
This will only happen when we are where God desires for us to be and do what He wants us to do. If those who told Christ “to come down from the cross” would have convinced Him to do so, we would all be lost.
