Wednesday April 9, 2014 “Ruinous Rumors”

Neh 6:5-7 Then Sanballat sent his servant to me as before, the fifth time, with an open letter in his hand. 6 In it was written:
It is reported among the nations, and Geshem says, that you and the Jews plan to rebel; therefore, according to these rumors, you are rebuilding the wall, that you may be their king. 7 And you have also appointed prophets to proclaim concerning you at Jerusalem, saying, “There is a king in Judah!” Now these matters will be reported to the king. So come, therefore, and let us consult together.
There were no valid accusations that the enemies of God’s people could make about Nehemiah so they resorted to lies – the “weapon of choice” of the devil.
God’s people should be careful not to give place to the devil or to allow ruinous rumors to intimidate them or distract them for the goal of bringing God’s glory back to America.
Christians and what they value have been under attack for years. The lies of the enemies of good have been propagated by the media continually.
Pray that Christians in America will draw near to the Lord and walk closely to him so they won’t give Satan opportunity to cast a dim light on our words and integrity. Also pray that the rumors (lies) of the evil one will not cause Christians to “back off” of their responsibility to be salt and light – being good and consistent witnesses for Christ and reproving the darkness in our nation.
