Thursday April 10, 2014 “Faithful Rebukees”

Neh 6:8-9 Then I sent to him, saying, “No such things as you say are being done, but you invent them in your own heart.” 9 For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.” Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
Nehemiah was a leader of God’s people and he denied all of the charges that the enemy accused him of and he pointed out the fact that the real problem was the heart of their enemies. Truly, “the heart is deceitful above all things” and, if not founded upon God’s eternal word, will drift to a purely humanistic view of the word and issues that face society.
Pray that Pastors and other church leaders be faithful to their calling to reprove and rebuke as well as exhort when they speak for God. If we fail to do this, God’s word will become irrelevant in both the church and the nation. “Faithful is the rebuke of a friend.”
