Sunday May 4, 2014 Weekly Prayer Focus

Nehemiah 7:70-73 “70 And some of the heads of the fathers’ houses gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand gold drachmas, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priestly garments. 71 Some of the heads of the fathers’ houses gave to the treasury of the work twenty thousand gold drachmas, and two thousand two hundred silver minas. 72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand gold drachmas, two thousand silver minas, and sixty-seven priestly garments.73 So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the Nethinim, and all Israel dwelt in their cities.”
The regathered Children of Israel laid their treasure before the Lord and godly leaders to help in the restoration of the land and the support of those who were leaders in Israel. God always supplies the resources for His work in the world. Even when Israel left the land where they were enslaved for 400 years, the Egyptians gave God’s people what they needed for their journey to the land of God’s promise.
Prayer Focus #1: Pray in agreement today that people who are returning to the Lord have an open hand to invest in the work that brought them back to God.
Prayer Focus #2: Pray that people returning to the Lord and the church discover their spiritual treasures old and new and lay them before the Lord and allow them to be used in His Kingdom.
Prayer Focus #3: Pray that God’s people who are returning to the fold become settled, rooted and grounded in faith and in a local church so that the Lord can use them to gather others who have been scattered for so long.
