Wednesday May 7, 2014 “Every City”

Neh 8:14-15   And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month, 15 and that they should announce and proclaim in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the mountain, and bring olive branches, branches of oil trees, myrtle branches, palm branches, and branches of leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written.”
The “Feast of Booths” described in these verses is a time of remembrance for Israel concerning the 40 years they traveled in the wilderness to the Promised Land. The word went out to every city so everyone could hear and understand the significance of these days.
Take time today in prayer that we as a nation remember our journey as Americans and that God’s people bring His word into the public debate as we are faced with a culture that keeps God at best at a distance and at worst completely out of its thoughts.
As a side bar, let us, as We Are The People partners, spread the word about this movement to intercede for the land we love to every city through email and other social networking like Facebook.
