Sunday June 8, 2014 “Pentecost”

Acts 2:14 “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.”
Today we officially celebrate Pentecost. Acts 2:1 tells us that Gods people were in one place and in one accord when the Day of Pentecost fully came. We need a time in our day when the Holy Spirit will fully come to His church once again.
When this happened in the early church Peter stood up, raised his voice and said, “Listen to me”.
Tonight as we gather coast to coast in all 3 time zones from 6-9 pm for prayers of agreement, let us come before God on the behalf of His people and this nation that truly needs to hear what God has to say. Thanks for joining us and tell someone about wearethepeople.me.
Prayer Focus #1 That Christians all across America will seek the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and His accompanying gifts. We will not see this nation turn “right side up” until we who are God’s people receive the Power of God from on high. Pray for hungry and thirsty hearts in the church.
Prayer Focus #2 Pray that true believers filled with the Holy Spirit will stand up and raise their voices
like Peter did. This is no time to be still, it is time to lift up our voices like a trumpet in the marketplaces of life.
Prayer Focus # 3 Peter boldly said, “Listen to me!” Notice that Peter did not come up with something new in Acts 2. He said in V.16 “Joel the Prophet said this years ago.” Our message of salvation is always relevant. Share the story in its fullness and with clarity.
Please note that in all that Peter spoke to people gathered in Jerusalem from all over the region, the crowd was permitted to say very little “what does this mean” and “what must we do.” Today let us pray that Christians begin to take control of the conversation about God and righteousness. We have listened so much we have allowed contrary message to control the conversation. Pray for a reversal in this area of our faith.
