Thursday July 3, 2014 “The Signers were Right”

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”
The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence agreed that the laws of nature and natures God gave America the right to be an independent nation.  The signers also said that the purpose of government is to protect the rights that are given to people by God (being endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.)  Question is then, “Why is the Christian religion excluded from government?” And why do people fear God so much that they desire to eliminate His name and word from government and society?  That, my friends, disallows those rights.
Let us pray this day before Independence Day that politicians and citizens of the United States who opposed God and His word will allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth that God’s way of living is not to be feared but embraced so that we can be blessed as we obey Him.
