Friday July 4, 2014 “Freedom of Religion”
John 4:23 “23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
As we celebrate our freedom today, let us remember that our most valuable freedom is to worship God and witness to others of His goodness and love for man. Some see the “separation of church and state” written in a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists in Connecticut has been misunderstood to mean freedom from religion instead of freedom of religion.
Today, let us agree in prayer that there be a correct understanding in America that “separation of church and state” is about establishing a state religion not being a people free from religion.
