Sunday July 6, 2014 “The 3 Things I Pray”

Daniel 4:27  “27 Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”
On this Sunday evening that ends the Independence Day weekend, we will focus in intercession on our obligation as Christians to influence the government of our land.
The Prophet Daniel was brought to a place of influence in Babylon by God’s favor.  Although Daniel was in that land being taken captive, he did not forget who he was and allowed the Lord to speak through him to King Nebuchadnezzar.
As we join our hearts in prayer from 6-9 pm (all time zones) let us believe that God places people where He needs them to change the heart of a King and the direction of a nation.
Invite someone to join us tonight and every Sunday for at least 15 minutes of intercession for America.
Prayer Focus #1:   Pray that “the king” (people in leadership) will hear the voices of truth crying out for repentance in the land for our attitude of independence from God and His Word.
Prayer Focus #2:  Pray that there be a move toward righteous living and rulings by courts in the land by turning from prideful attitudes of men to humility that will direct our hearts toward God and His ways that will bring blessing to America.  God reigns in righteousness.
Prayer Focus #3:  Pray that as a people we understand true mercy – helping people to learn how to stand on their own through faith and God’s Word instead of enslaving people to a system of entitlement that cannot continue without burdening the entire nation with overbearing debt. Pray that our legislatures will examine carefully the direction we are travelling in and correct the course while we can.  Daniel said the result of doing those things we find in his words to the King can bring about prosperity. Friends, God desires to bless us more than we can imagine. We just need to follow His pathway to the blessings.
