Nehemiah  13:12&13    “Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the storehouse. ¹³ And I appointed as treasurers over the storehouse Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah; and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered faithful, and their task was to distribute to their brethren.”

   Welcome to our weekly Sunday night prayers of agreement from 6-9 m (all time zones). I encourage you to invite friends to join us during this time of intercession for our nation.

   As always, it is asked that you invest at least 15 minutes this evening praying according to the 3 prayer focuses listed below.

   May God bless you for your commitment to pray for this great nation in this time of national and international instability.

Prayer Focus #1  We have dealt previously with the financial support of the church in prayers following the Book of Nehemiah as a guide.  Nehemiah dealt with the walls of Jerusalem being rebuilt and then the entire socio-economics of the nation of Israel.  Tonight, as we pray for America’s revival, we must pray that financially we become good stewards, for Jesus said in Luke 16:11 “If you have not been faithful with your money, who will commit to your trust true or (spiritual) riches.”  God puts a premium on good, honest financial stewardship.

   Over the past few years America’s fiduciary responsibilities as financial stewards has become abysmal at best.  Pray tonight in agreement that as all the tithe came into the storehouse of Israel that gatekeepers, like the IRS, be responsible in making sure that the tax (tithe) all come into the storehouse of America so that there be enough income to cover expenses and pay down the debts – national, state and locally so we can return to the place of balanced budget.

Prayer Focus #2  Pray that faithful and honest people become stewards of the enormous wealth we have been blessed with in our country.  Appointees and those hired to handle finances must be people who are capable and above reproach.  Pray that those people that God has in mind will be found in financially important positions.

Prayer Focus #3  The appointees of treasurers positioned by Nehemiah had the task of distributing fairly to their brothers.

   Pray tonight that there be fairness in the distribution of funds committed to the trust of those chosen to be stewards. Wisdom in policy making and proper processes must be in place to evaluate valid needs before funds are distributed through hard earned tax payer dollars.  Pray that policies and wise grass-roots workers be in place to evaluate disbursements so that they meet real needs among our honest, hard-working citizens.

 Please pray for families of loved ones lost on the recent airline crashes and the one shot down in Ukraine. Pray that the situations be handled wisely by the world community, especially by our country.  Pray that truth be revealed concerning who was responsible.

    Also pray for the crisis in Israel concerning Gaza and Libya, Iraq, Syria, etc.  Pray for the protection of innocent lives and that the world community see the situation through the eyes of truth.  Finally, pray that the United States continue to support our strongest ally in that area of the world, Israel, for in doing so we will be blessed.  Gen 12:3
