We Are The People

Luke 21:10-13    “Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. ¹¹ And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. ¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. ¹³ But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.”

    Welcome to the weekly Sunday evening time for prayers of agreement for our nation.  We ask that you spend at least 15 minutes in intercession concerning three prayer focuses between the hours of 6 and 9 pm  (all time zones).  Why not invite 2 friends to join us this evening.  You can also follow our daily prayer guide Monday through Saturday.  We have been praying through the Book of Nehemiah and we will continue that on Monday’s prayer blog.

   Tonight’s focus will be on current events facing our nation  Speaking of the “last days” just prior to the coming of our Lord, Jesus said there will be signs in the heavens and the earth.  This evening we will focus in united prayer concerning things we see happening in our world where the United States can make a difference in these situations.

Prayer Focus #1  “Signs in the Heavens” – (the skies) where there have been unusual circumstances concerning plane crashes, disappearance  and even one shot down. Pray for our leaders to direct assistance in such a way that we are helpful without divulging technological secrets that we possess.

Prayer Focus #2  Wars and Persecution are said to be signs to us. Let us pray that our leaders be on the “right side” in conflicts that seem to be erupting in many areas of the world.  We need to have God’s wisdom as to how and “how much” we should be involved. The recent persecution of Christians in Iraq, Egypt and other nations in that area of the world and even in America must be addressed – pray that there be a correct response by our nation concerning other countries and America itself. Our country was built squarely on Judeo-Christian principles and we must continue to uphold that domestically and respond in a Christian attitude toward persecution of Christians around the world with courage and resolve.

Prayer Focus #3   Pestilence (plagues)  – flesh-eating viruses on our coasts and Ebola beginning in West Africa and the danger of spreading the dread disease.  Pray that health care providers have wisdom in containing and eradicating these dread diseases and that people be protected that are providing care for those affected.

Special Prayer Focus

    Please pray for families of loved ones lost on the recent airline crashes and the one shot down in Ukraine. Pray that the situations be handled wisely by the world community, especially by our country.  Pray that truth be revealed concerning who was responsible.

    Also pray for the crisis in Israel concerning Gaza and Libya, Iraq, Syria, etc.  Pray for the protection of innocent lives and that the world community see the situation through the eyes of truth.  Finally, pray that the United States continue to support our strongest ally in that area of the world, Israel, for in doing so we will be blessed.  Gen 12:3
