Thursday October 2, 2014 “Divine Assignments”

1 Kings 18:5-8 “And Ahab had said to Obadiah, “Go into the land to all the springs of water and to all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive, so that we will not have to kill any livestock.” So they divided the land between them to explore it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.  Now as Obadiah was on his way, suddenly Elijah met him; and he recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, “Is that you, my lord Elijah?”  And he answered him, “It is I. Go, tell your master, ‘Elijah is here.’”
To bring the prophetic word to the king, God had Ahab unknowingly assign the loyal Obadiah a task that would bring together Obadiah and Elijah who carried the prophetic word.
Let us pray in agreement this day that our leaders do things that will bring together government and words from heaven via God’s messengers during these turbulent days we live in. God’s word will bring hope like the message of rain did for God’s people.  The subsequent rain will bring the much needed refreshing to our land.
