Tuesday October 7, 2014 “Let’s Give it a Try”

1 Kings 18:22-24 “22 Then Elijah said to the people, “I alone am left a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. 24 Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.”  So all the people answered and said, “It is well spoken.”
It seems that all of the people were ready to discover what direction to take. The gathering on Mt. Carmel would convince the uninformed and undecided.  Could it be that we will see this happen in America?
Pray that we as Christians will stand up and be willing to say, “Examine the issues, try God’s ways once again and see that God’s ways are best” even at a time when there are many that have contrary views which have proved to be not only wrong but have failed repeatedly. People will see that God’s ways are best if given a chance.
