Tuesday October 28, 2014 “Turn the Lights On”

2 Chronicles 29:6-7 “For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the Lord our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the Lord, and turned their backs on Him. They have also shut up the doors of the vestibule, put out the lamps, and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.”
The “fathers” of Israel had put out the lamps in the temple. The wicks were not trimmed and oil was not added to the lamps. The flame of God in His house is without a doubt the Holy Spirit who illuminates and convicts people of sin, righteousness and judgment.
May our prayers of agreement today be that God’s people make room for the Holy Spirit in the church and in everyday life. Conviction of sin and illumination of the soul that Jesus is Lord of all brings revival.
