Saturday January 10, 2015 “Righteousness That Goes Beyond”

Matthew 5:20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
In verses 46-48 of this chapter Jesus teaches us how to be perfect or righteous as the Father in heaven is righteous or perfect. We must exceed what all people do – just be nice to people who are nice to them. God calls us beyond that behavior through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Join in prayer today that Christians in America not just “buddy up” to others who are just like they are but that they will see all people with an impartial heart. This will draw people to the believer which will give them opportunity to share Christ with the unsaved.
