Monday January 12, 2015 “Name-calling”

Matthew 5:22 ’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.
Name-calling seems like a minor offense toward another human being. Jesus says if we call a person a fool is to put one’s self in danger of hellfire and to say to a person “Raca” or a numbskull – labelling one an ignoramus can result in being judged publicly.
Pray tonight that people in America put away inflammatory labels they put on others and learn to condemn the sin that dominates without resorting to name-calling and endangering themselves in the judgment.
