Monday February 2, 2015 “Private Prayer”

Matthew 6:6 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Yes we can pray as a group of believers. The Book of Acts provides precedent for that and there are powerful results. But it seems that Jesus encourages private prayer. The Gospels reveal that He Himself practiced this kind of prayer.
Let us pray that we who are Christian Americans follow our Lord’s example of private prayer so that when we pray publicly our prayers are biblical and faith-filled. That kind of prayer will move mountains that hinder this one nation under God from shining like a city on a hill.
