Sunday March 8, 2015 “The Father’s Care”

Matthew 6:26-30 “26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”
Welcome to the Sunday Night edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. As always it is asked that you invest 15 minutes minimum between 6 and 9pm (all time zones) in intercessory prayers of agreement for this land we love. Below you will find a three point prayer guide to get you started this evening.
Thanks for joining us and consider inviting a friend to join us at WATP or start a Sunday prayer group. Jesus taught that prayers of agreement are powerful. You can also join us Monday through Saturday at Wearethepeople.me.
Prayer Focus #1: Lilies that are wildflowers in the fields do not toil or spin, yet they increase, Jesus said. God created all things in this way. Even man he told, “Be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.”
Jesus is teaching us to observe how the system works and expect it to work for you. In America the free market financial system will take care of itself if we allow it to at the governmental level. Having been a businessman I have discovered how it works and learned how to make it work for me – planting and the earth bringing forth as Father watches over and nurtures as Jesus spoke of in the Gospel of John Chapter 15.
Pray in agreement today that in this land of opportunity – our government, at all levels, would facilitate God’s way of man receiving provision and increase in life and not interfere with God’s plan.
Prayer Focus #2: Jesus tells us that these beautifully clothed flowers are also considered as grass of the field that will one day fade and become fuel for a furnace. Pray in agreement tonight that Christians in America who have discovered the goodness of God and realize how much He has blessed us as we have followed His word will realize it is but for a season. Pray that we use our “increase” wisely to bless others while we are able to be a living testimony for people to see how God clothes us.
Prayer Focus #3: In Verse 30 Jesus assures even those who exercise “little faith” that they need not worry concerning the basic things of life. Compared to the way God cares for birds and flowers, He will “much more” care for man made in His image and likeness.
Let us conclude tonight’s prayers of agreement requesting that believers in America exude a humble confidence in God’s provision even in times of leanness. This will “grab” the attention of non-believers and build a platform to share the Gospel that not only provides for this life but also eternity.
