Matthew 7:13-14 “13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Welcome to the Easter Sunday edition of We are the People Prayer for America. Jesus says there are gates and ways to either good or destructive futures. Tonight we will pray in agreement concerning the two metaphors He used to teach us spiritual truth. It is asked that you spend a minimum of 15 minutes in intercession following the three prayer focus points below.
Happy Easter for He is Risen!!
Prayer Focus #1: Some contend that gates lead to paths and others contend that paths lead to gates. In Jesus’ sacrifice of the cross followed by the resurrection we see that the gate of death for our sins leads to a path of new life of righteousness and peace with God. Let us pray tonight that there be a mighty revelation through the Holy Spirit that will spread throughout the land that Jesus is the only answer to America’s ills and that we must, as a people, turn to God aloud to restore our land as He alone could bring Jesus back to life from the dead.
Prayers Focus #2: Jesus teaches that the narrow gate and the constricted road lead to true life in the Kingdom of God. The wide road leads to destruction. In the Garden of Gethsemane it is revealed that Jesus determined the narrow path was the only one to follow for “the cup did not pass from Him.” Pray tonight that America as a nation and we as individuals choose the narrow road less taken – one that might be temporarily sacrificial but leads ultimately to a best and blessed future of true freedom – financially and spiritually.
Prayer Focus #3: Jesus said that only few will find and remain on the straight and narrow path. This does not refer to how many will be saved but how many will act upon what they believe as followers of Jesus Christ. Pray in agreement this evening that believer’s in America will commit to be the few that enter the gate and follow the narrow path that leads to abundant living. Intercede for Christians in the land that we might follow God’s ways not matter what the cost.
