Tuesday June 2, 2015 “Blessed Preachers”

Matthew 5:10-12 “10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
In the Book of Acts chapter 8 we are told of Great Persecution in the Christian community.  They were imprisoned or driven out of town as we see in the Middle East today.  (Same devil then as now.)  The headlines did not read that Christianity falters under attack.  Instead we read that their courage and faith caused them to preach Jesus wherever they found themselves and if they were beaten they got up swinging (preaching Jesus and loving people to life).
Today let us join our hearts in prayer for those who experience persecution from family, friends, co-workers, classmates, teachers and oppressive politicians making Godless laws realize that Jesus calls them blessed and being blessed we can still respond with blessings to others as we continue to preach Jesus.
