We Are The People

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

      Yesterday we discovered that salt accelerates fire in an earthen oven or kiln. Today let’s consider the fact that even though salt is a catalyst to heat, it loses its effectiveness over time and must be discarded. In a parallel scripture in Luke 14:34&35 we see that salt can become unfit for the earthen kiln or a dung hill where salt was used as an accelerant.
Jesus desires His followers to be a catalyst that ignites and a sustainer of spiritual flames on the earth. Pray today that believers in America salt the earth with fires of the Holy Spirit that will reveal Jesus Christ throughout the land in this day of confusion and apathy.
