We Are The People

Matthew 5:14 “¹⁴ “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Moses reminded his people Israel in Deuteronomy 26:18-19 that they were God’s special possession.  They were told that if God’s commandments were obeyed the Lord would raise them high above all other nations.  The Prophet Isaiah called God’s people a light to the nations.  That light would draw those in darkness to God.

Pray today that as a people Christians would be diligent in their pursuit of God’s word that reveals the high calling of believers to lead the way of righteousness in the land.  We must as the Apostle Peter said, “Make your calling and election sure.”  This will lead the nation back to God and the light of His word regarding key issues of life like sexuality, finances, peace and order in this land of the free and home of the brave.
