We Are The People

Matthew 5:14-16 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

     As we conclude our daily prayer focus based on the Sermon on the Mount, let us be mindful of the truth that God’s people, “the salt of the earth,” like the natural compound, works best when least visible as seasoning on food. If you “pile it on” your favorite food it ruins the taste and is unhealthy. In the same way a pinch of salt at a time added to food enhances its taste.
Pray that believers in America have wisdom as to the intensity of their witness so people will taste and see that the Lord is good and His ways and His people leave a good taste in their mouth.
