We Are The People

Zechariah 1:16 “¹⁶ ‘Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’

Welcome to the Sunday Evening Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. This past week we have been looking at the Book of Zechariah and finding prayer points for our nation every day.

It is asked that you intercede for America a minimum of 15 minutes tonight between the hours of 6 and 9 pm (all time zones). Thank you for joining your prayers with ours as we call upon the Lord on the behalf of this land we love. Invite an intercessor to join us tonight.

Prayer Focus #1: The Lord desires us to come home more than we can imagine and He promises mercy for His people. Pray tonight that we will open our hearts to His mercy and allow it to flow through us as we reach out to people in America who are like those in Ninevah in Jonah’s day who did not know their left hand from their right hand. Pray that hearts will be open to hear a message of God’s mercy toward those who welcome Him home to America.

Prayer Focus #2: God promises to build a house where His mercy dwells. Many times throughout history God’s people have experienced a visitation of God’s Spirit. Let us pray and “prepare the way” as John the Baptist did for a “habitation” for the Holy Spirit in these days. We need an extended time of revival and refreshing from heaven in these days where it seems that evil and confusion abound. Call upon the Lord tonight and request that He build a House in our beloved America once again and that the blessing of His house cover us from shore to shore.

Prayer Focus #3: A surveyor’s or “plumb line” would be used to discover if Jerusalem is plumb or straight with God and His Word. Tonight let us pray that the “plumb line” of God measure us as a nation and help us see where the foundation and walls are not plumb but are in jeopardy of impending collapse.

There are so many areas of life that are out of line with God’s truth today. Finances, medical care, sanctity of human life, and enforcing existing laws, public safety and many other areas of life must come under God’s authority if blessing will return to the land. Pray that we allow the Lord to adjust us to conform to His ways that lead to unity, prosperity and safety.
