Friday August 14, 2015 “Rejoice”
Zechariah 2: 10 “10 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord.”
As God promised through Isaiah the Prophet that He would give beauty for ashes, rejoicing for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness, the Lord tells the people – “it is time to rejoice!”
Most people rejoice only after they have seen the hand of God do great things. God’s people were told to rejoice and sing when faced with great enemy forces on their borders in 2 Chronicles Chapter 20. The people sang, “Praise the Lord for His mercies endure forever” and the Lord fought the battle for His people.
Today, let our prayer be a praise to God who has not forsaken us. He is rising up to finish His work in and through His people, let us express our faith through thanksgiving before His work is done.
