We Are The People

Zechariah 4:6 “⁶ So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.”

Zerubbabel was the governor of the people sent by Cyrus to watch over the Jews returning to their land.  The angel speaking to Joshua the High Priest was being reminded that the national leaders, such as governors, must understand that the restoration of a land must be under the authority of Almighty God.

Pray today, as we remember the events of 14 years ago, that we must pray for our leaders that they have open hearts and minds concerning God’s ways in the days of uncertainty.  God is clearly saying it is not by our nation’s might or power.  All of us including leaders from the president on down must humble themselves and receive God’s help in these days.
