We Are The People

Zechariah 4:11-14 “¹¹ Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” ¹² And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?” ¹³ Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”  ¹⁴ So he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.”

 Welcome to our Sunday night edition of “We are the People” intercession for our nation.  Every Sunday evening we agree on three prayer focus points in prayer.  It is asked that you invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9pm (all time zones).

The man of God saw the vision but did not have perfect understanding of what he was seeing.  This is many times the case with those who operate in the gifts of the Spirit.  Clarity is needed for God’s people and the nation to live under the blessings of God.

In the book of Revelation, Chapter 11, we are taught that in the time of the end there will be two prophets or witnesses who will stand in the streets of Jerusalem administering judgment upon a God-rejecting people.  These two olive trees can represent in typeology the voices of judgment upon a Christ-rejecting, truth defying world.  The oil represents the Holy Spirit and the illumination He provides when His people are living as flames of fire in a world of darkness.

Prayer Focus #1:  Pray that we, as God’s people, recognize those who are lamp stand people bringing Spirit-filled ministry in our day and be a part of God’s work through the Holy Spirit by support in prayer and in tangible ways.

Prayer Focus #2:  Pray that the work of the Holy Spirit be accepted as we move into times and seasons when only that which is of the Spirit will be effective as we face a devil who understands that His time and that of his demonic forces is short.

Prayer Focus #3:   That as “anointed ones” (V. 14) were standing before the Lord hearing His heart and brought illumination for those days in Israel – we will see “anointed ones” – all of God’s saints rise up in the power of the Holy spirit dispelling darkness through God’s powerful light.
