Saturday October 17, 2015 “Compassion”

Zechariah 7:9 ““Thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother.”
Show compassion to all of our brothers.  Mercy was our prayer focus yesterday.  Compassion is our subject today.  These two are similar but not the same.  Compassion is what draws us to the hurting, battered and bruised like we find in the story of the man on the road to Jericho that fell among thieves.  The Good Samaritan was the only one who stopped to help and provide the needed assistance for the man’s well-being.
Pray today that God’s people in America choose to take the time to stop and help people truly in need, lest those who have no words of eternal life help the person only in this world and fail to prepare them for the next.  Pray that we will help people find God’s ways so they will not falter and fall in that area of life again or other areas of life because they have not the foundation of Christ and His word in this life.
