Sunday October 25, 2015 “Scattered and Desolate”

Zechariah 7:14 “But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.”
God and His law had been rejected and the cup of His wrath was full.
Good evening and welcome to our Sunday Night Edition of “We Are The People.” Every Sunday evening we agree in prayer concerning three prayer points between the hours of 6 and 9 pm (all time zones). Thank you for joining us tonight as we call upon God with one voice for America.
God’s people had chosen to stop their ears to God’s voice and the results are deafeningly silent. This left Israel to their own devices and that spelled trouble. Not listening to God always leads people and nations into trouble.
Prayer Focus #1 God scattered the people with a whirlwind among all nations. God’s Kingdom message is to gather people from all nations and make disciples of those who believe. God disciplined His people by scattering them to live among people who do not believe. “E pluribus unum ” (out of many one) is what America is all about. A part of God’s judgment in our land is that we have not been physically scattered, but we have become scattered as a people in leaving the rule of law (God’s Word) as our standard of living and many “gods” of the nations who have come to the United States have confused many.
Pray today that there be a movement in America to once again establish “One Nation Under God” and in God become one in faith and brotherhood.
Prayer Focus #2 “the land became desolate”. God promised fruitfulness to the nations that make the one true God their Lord. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”.
Let us agree in prayer tonight that God will be merciful to us in that the land not become desolate because we have denied God His rightful place. And pray that God would revive areas of America that have been weakened through the disregard of God’s ways. There are many areas of societal life that have been damaged by forces that have worked overtime to attempt a “divide and conquer” attitude in America where we once walked united as a people.
Prayer Focus #3 “They made the pleasant land desolate”. God’s people created an environment of destruction. God’s plan is always constructive and makes things pleasant and appealing.
Pray that as in the days of Nehemiah when people had a mind to work, that the people of God focus on restoring this pleasant land called America to the level of Canaan – “a land flowing with milk and honey.”
May we all strive to be keepers of the garden as God did with Adam in Eden so many years ago. Let this generation be called the “Restorers of the Breach” caused by sin and disregard for the Word of God.
