Zechariah 8:12 “12 “For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give its fruit, the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew. I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these.”
Welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. It is asked that you invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayer concerning the three focus points listed below. May God richly bless you for your commitment and concern for the future of this country that has a future as bright as the promises of God. Please invite others to join us in this time of intercession between the hours of 6 and 9pm (all time zones) every Sunday evening.
Prayer Focus #1: In the Book of Isaiah the Prophet speaks of a vine planted by the Lord. This refers to Israel. I believe we are also a vine planted by the Lord in our generation. The fruit of America is liberty and freedom.
Let us join our hearts today and pray that our leadership in Washington understand that calling and work toward the end that we extend freedom and the genius of our government of the people, by the people, and for the people around the globe through our example and influence.
Prayer Focus #2: “The ground shall give her increase.” In the parable of the sower and the seed, good ground always brings forth a harvest. Perhaps the lack of harvest economically, socially and in so many ways is due to the fact that many people in America today lack a “good soil” type of heart.
Pray today that at the grass roots level and top leadership in America be purged of selfish ambition and pride that hardens the heart to the work of God that produces a good return on investment. Sincerely intercede for America to turn to God in repentance and salvation.
Prayer Focus #3: “The Heavens will give their dew.” Without proper saturation the ground does not produce. Israel of old suffered from drought conditions many times due to their lack of obedience to God. The drought led to famine. Amos 8:11 tells us that there are times when there is a famine of hearing God’s word. We must not allow ourselves to come to this point for without a vision or a revelation from God people perish.
Pray today that God’s people will have a desire to hear the truth of God’s word and that will result in the right Presidential candidates being chosen for the 2016 elections. Great and godly leaders are necessary for the heavens to ring forth blessing from the Lord. It was that way in ancient Israel and it is the same today.
