We Are The People

Acts 5:1-3 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. ² And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. ³ But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday evening edition of “We are the People” prayer initiative for America.  It is asked that our intercessors invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayer following the three focus points listed below.

Focus #1: “Satan filled Ananias’ heart to lie to the Holy Spirit.”  Peter asked “Why?”  Ananias had let down his guard and Satan took advantage of him.

Focus #2: The couple held some back from what they received.  Even though it was theirs and they could have held back some of what they received – fact is some people “hold back” when they have plenty to share of time, talent and treasure.  Pray today that Christians in America see that they have been blessed in so many ways they can afford to release some of their abundance to do good.  The Bible teaches that if it is in our hand to do good and we do not do it – it is sin and sin deprives one’s self of blessing.

Focus #3:  Sapphira agreed to lie like her husband did.  Pray today that people in such close relationships like husband and wife, business partners, etc. will not be partners in sin but rather bring correction that results in blessing.  The alternative is that which could be enjoyed in a relationship can result in spiritual death and loss.  “Wages of sin is always death.”
