We Are The People

1 Peter 2:13-14 ¹³ Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, ¹⁴ or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

Sometimes it is difficult to submit to those in authority when their lifestyle and judgement is darkened by the “god of this world.”  But these verses are clear – we don’t want to be seen as rebellious evildoers who can be punished for our disobedience.

Pray today that we will be able to continue to submit to those in authority but that we will also exercise our right to vote people into public office that will govern according to God’s ways the best they can.
