Isaiah 60:1-2 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday night edition of We are the People prayer for America, the land we love. It is asked that every partner invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayer using the 3 prayer points listed below as a guide for the evening.
God bless you for being a part of God’s plan in turning America back to God through petitioning heaven and influencing earth by your words and actions. Please invite others to join us in this very pivotal time in the history of America.
Prayer Focus #1: Darkness shall cover the earth. There are certain places in every country where darkness is felt. It is a heaviness that causes people to feel uneasy and fearful. Hopelessness to change the environment brings discouragement. But Jeremiah 5:1 gives us hope that it only takes one person to change the atmosphere of a city. Joseph did, Daniel did, the Apostle Paul did and countless others have done the same.
Pray that when God’s people sense the darkness that covers the part of the earth where they find themselves, they will claim that place like Joshua did with the Promised Land. Remember, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
Prayer Focus #2: Deep darkness will cover the people. This is not only evil it is also confusion and a lack of judgement on the part of people who don’t know God or His love for them. Pray that the deep darkness will be lifted like fog as we bind those forces of darkness that influence those in authority in America.
Prayer Focus #3: The Lord will arise over His people and His glory will be seen upon you. Like a covering of righteousness God will arise over His people. There is a difference between God’s glory and His very presence.
In the Book of Revelation John, the writer of the book fell back at his vision of Jesus Christ. Pray that God’s people will have an understanding of what it means that God’s presence prepares the way before them in life and that a Godly fear comes upon those who oppose you. When the soldiers came to take Jesus in the Garden all the Lord did was say “I am” and the solders fell backward and became powerless. Pray for the revelation in the hearts of God’s people that when God is with us – who can stand against us. Pray that we will have confidence as we proclaim Him boldly to a darkened earth and people in America.
