We Are The People

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday evening edition of “We Are The People” prayer for America. It is asked that you pray a minimum of 15 minutes using the focus points listed below as a guide. Because these are prayers of agreement please pray between the hours of 6 and 9 pm (all time zones.)

    We love this country and we know that God alone can heal the ills that we face today. It is encouraged that you pray daily leading up to our general elections and follow our daily prayer blog on WATP.

  May the Lord bless you as you intercede for our nation and God’s people in the land.

Prayer Focus #1 In the Gospel of John Chapter 2 Jesus turned water into wine to spare a family from embarrassment during their time of celebration at a wedding feast. Increasing the availability of wine also extended the time of joy for family and friends.  Pray tonight that as a nation we will also find a reason to sing again as God does a new work of righteousness in our land.  America can rise above the embarrassment we have suffered on the international scene and we can enjoy many years of celebration as God’s blessings fall upon our land once again. The joy that the Lord brings is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10

Prayer Focus #2  Jesus healed a Roman Centurion’s servant whom He had never met, yet He let a dear friend Lazarus die instead of healing him at a distance through a word like He did with the servant.

    Pray that Americans will have their eyes open to the fact that God doesn’t always do things the way man would. And that His work doesn’t always seem to be the right thing at the moment. Remember even though Jesus didn’t heal Lazarus in the way Mary and Martha thought He would, in the end Jesus raised Hs friend Lazarus from death after 4 days in the grave.

Prayer Focus #3  Jesus rebuked the religious with wrong attitudes, threw some out of church (the Temple), but He forgave adulteresses and thieves. He even called Mary Magdalene who had been possessed by multiple demons to be one of his choice followers.

   Pray today that our people, especially Christians, will understand that God’s ways and the way He uses the most unlikely people to bring about God’s will and purposes for America’s future.
